In this course, the student will learn a combination of three unique and novel techniques for biomechanical joint dysfunction. Bone Bruises, shears and subluxations.
Often, pain and disability are caused by bone bruises (micro-trabecular fractures) within the articular space. This method of treatment simply promotes opening of the joint space, correction of the shears and subluxations and treatment of Bone Bruises.
The technique for correction of shears found at growth plates as well as the technique for correction of Bone Bruises was developed by Dr. (Weiselfish) Giammatteo. It will address shoulder and knee joint problems which have caused perpetuation of pain, disorders, and disability. Shear and subluxations, named Type III dysfunctions by W. Giammatteo, that occur at the knee joint cause Osgood-Schlatters, patellar problems, meniscus tears, cruciate ligament strains, and other problems that can lead to osteoarthritis. Shears and Bone Bruises at the shoulder girdle are a common cause of avascular necrosis, rotator cuff tensions, problems of the glenoid labrum, and more. With the techniques taught in this course, these problems can now be addressed.
Methods for improving circulation to the joint, specific ligament correction techniques, as well as a more reliable form of assessment will also be presented.
