Low back pain and disability is an epidemic! 9 out of 10 people in this country will experience low back pain in their lifetime. Often, conventional treatment approaches are unsuccessful in the total elimination of symptoms.
Thirty years of clinical research has led to the development of the ‘(Weiselfish) Giammatteo Model’ of Muscle Energy Techniques. Dr. Sharon (Weiselfish) Giammatteo has successfully used this approach on the orthopedic, neurologic, pediatric, and geriatric patient population. During this introductory lab course, the therapist will learn how to assess, diagnose, and treat biomechanical problems of the pelvis and sacrum. Application of these techniques will lead to immediate improvements in pain and symptoms, balance, gait, bending, lifting, sitting, and other activities of daily living.
