During this 3 day introductory lab course in Integrative Manual Therapy, the therapist will learn simple and efficient manual techniques to assess, diagnose (Integrated Systems Approach) and treat joint and soft tissue dysfunction, utilizing the Mechanical Model Pressure Scan (MMPS). When these techniques are used for diagnostics, the therapist will be able to locate nerve impingements, nerve and vascular entrapment syndromes and other problems which may be underlying causes of pain and disability.
The MMPS can locate structural problems in the head, face, neck, rib cage and trunk, upper extremity, low back and pelvis, and the lower extremity. By treating these sites of dysfunction located by the MMPS, the therapist will see changes in their patient’s pain level, posture, joint mobility, ranges of motion, flexibility, strength, and more. Following successful completion of this course.
The therapist will be able to immediately apply the MMPS approach in their daily clinical practice. Techniques from Strain / Counterstrain, Nullification and Protocols for treatment of common structural problems are presented in this class
