Procedure

Integrative Manual Therapy™ comprises diagnostics, assessment of the complexity of the dysfunction, treatment of the patient and assessment of the success of the performed therapy.

Functional disturbances, pain and handicaps are allways the result of numerous causes. IMT and it's Integrated Systems Approach™ takes this into account by using a multi-system approach to assessment, diagnosis and treatment. The specific dysfunctional components of every system can so be identified and treated with the corresponding techniques from Integrative Manual Therapy™. Integrative Diagnostics™.

The specific diagnostic procedure is a highly effective tool for establishing in which of the patient's systems anatomical and/or physiological dysfunctions lie, how they affect each other and lead to functional biomechanical problems.

This type of diagnosis enables the therapist to make use of a selective therapy which takes into account all systems. As a result, the patient recovers faster and more thoroughly. The success of the performed therapy can be judged in it's effectivity and efficiency.

ALL therapies are gentle, in other words non-invasive.

The techniques of Integrative Manual Therapy™ are applied after anamnesis, diagnostics and treatment planning. Regarding anatomical complexity of the dysfunction, rate of the dysfunctional expansion within the body's systems and the skills of the therapist, there is a choice among the following possibilities:

  • Muscle relaxation
  • Muscle - energy work
  • Nerve relaxation
  • Vessel wall relaxation
  • Myofascial release
  • Visceral manipulation
  • Bone release techniques
  • Cranio-sacral therapy
  • Decongestion of the lymph system
  • Energetic work (systems a.o.)

The aim of each of these treatment methods is to relax tension in the various parts of the body and achieve not only relief from pain but functional improvement and structural regeneration at the cellular level.

The emphasis in the treatment lies in the diagnosis of all functional-medicine specialities such as

  • Orthopedics
  • Sports medicine
  • Sports traumatology
  • Neurology
  • Internal medicine
  • Urology
  • Gynaecology
  • Pediatrics
  • Rehabilitation

Integrative Manual Therapy™ is used in particular for:

  • all forms of backache
  • migraine and tension headaches
  • all forms of trauma
  • urological diseases and gynaecological diseases
  • internal, coronary disorders, e.g., high blood pressure and other heart and circulatory diseases
  • hemiplegia, paraplegia
  • disturbances of the brain such as concentration problems and lack of endurance
  • dental and orthodontic problems.

All treatment methods can be applied for both therapeutic and prophylactic purposes.
