Integrative Manual Therapy™ is Manual Therapy with an integrative relation. This means, problems concerning structure, function and energetics are first diagnosed in their interaction within the body's systems. Then they are assessed in a complex manner (integrative) and as a result treated with the corresponding methods from IMT, which are based completely on manual techniques.

IMT sees people as consisting of numerous systems. This includes:

  • the systems of the bones
  • the system of the muscles
  • the lymphatic system
  • the nervous system
  • the system of connective tissues
  • the system of organs
  • and a large number of energetic systems

People react to physical and emotional stress by developing tension. This is a protective mechanism and occurs in all the body's systems. The concept of Integrative Manual Therapy™ classifies protective modes of a structure itself and protective modes, which are due to a hierarchy of protection (more important structures are protected by less important structures). These protective modes are present on different neuroreflexogenic levels.

If this tension develops symmetrically, we become smaller. But this is seldom the case. More frequently, tension develops asymmetrically which means that the body must develop tension elsewhere to create a balance. This leads to strains of varying degrees and greater tension in all the body's systems. At some point, pain occurs at that place or those places which are each individual's weak point and which were under tension for an extended period of time. However, this does not mean that the cause is located where pain is felt.

Problems in different systems of the body require different treatment methods, all of which have one thing in common:ALL therapies are gentle, in other words non-invasive.
